Key Installation Points for Parking Lot Gully Grating

The installation quality of parking lot gully gratings is directly related to drainage efficiency, traffic safety, and service life. Combined with the needs of high-frequency vehicle rolling and large-flow drainage, four core aspects must be focused on: load-bearing matching, installation accuracy, sealing and leakage prevention, and safety protection.

I. Pre-installation Preparation: Precise Matching and Foundation Inspection

1. Specification and load-bearing matching: Select the load-bearing grade according to the vehicle type. Light-duty (≥2.5kN) or medium-duty (≥10kN) gratings are used for small parking lots, and heavy-duty (≥25kN) for truck parking lots; ensure the grating size fits the gully opening, with a 2-3cm installation gap reserved.

2. Foundation inspection: Ensure the concrete base around the gully opening is flat and solid, and repair cracks and settlements; clean up debris and accumulated water, and verify that the drainage ditch slope is ≥1%.

3. Tools and auxiliary materials: Prepare tools such as tape measures and levels, and anti-corrosion auxiliary materials such as stainless steel bolts and sealants.

II. Core Installation: Standard Operation for Stability

1. Positioning and laying: Locate according to the design drawings, place the grating stably, calibrate with a level to ensure the top surface is flush with the ground, with an error ≤2mm, and eliminate protrusions or depressions.

2. Fixing and anti-loosening: Tighten bolts diagonally; add anti-skid gaskets and locknuts in heavy-vehicle areas; ensure the bolt top is flush with the grating to avoid scratching tires.

3. Sealing and leakage prevention: Apply waterproof sealant evenly at the gaps; use oil-resistant sealant in areas with oil pollution risks, and add anti-leakage gaskets inside if necessary.

III. Special Scenario Handling: Adapting to Complex Working Conditions

1. Ramp entrances and curves: Use gratings with thickened frames, increase the density of fixed points, and install anti-collision strips on the edges to reduce impact damage.

2. Low-lying waterlogged areas: Increase the density of drainage ditches, use gratings with large gaps (≥20mm) to improve drainage efficiency, and install them 1-2mm lower than the ground to form a water collection slope.

3. Winter freezing areas: Use gratings with anti-skid patterns, reserve deicing agent feeding ports under the gratings, and ensure smooth drainage to prevent freezing and expansion damage.

IV. Acceptance and Protection: Building a Solid Safety Line

1. Acceptance: Check the flatness and firmness of the grating, ensuring no hollow sound when tapped; conduct light-vehicle rolling tests to ensure no deformation or displacement; simulate rainfall with water spraying to ensure no water accumulation.

2. Protection: Set warning signs and temporary guardrails in unfinished areas or where gratings are temporarily removed; mark the load-bearing grade on the gratings to prohibit overloaded rolling.

3. Maintenance tips: Regularly clean debris from gaps; inspect fasteners and sealants annually, and replace damaged parts in a timely manner.


Following the above points can ensure that the gully gratings achieve efficient drainage, safe traffic, and long durability, adapting to the high-frequency traffic and complex drainage needs of parking lots.
